Job Description:

Swedish mining company is looking to place an Exploration Geologist in their region. The role requires a degree in Geology with at least 4 years’ experience in Mining or exploration of open pit mining (Iron ore). This is permanent role and will require relocation to Sweden. The successful candidate must be willing to learn Swedish/Finnish.

Main job function

The position will form part of the Exploration Department

Work closely to the geologists in the Planning Department

Development and implementation of exploration programs in collaboration with the Company's chief geologist

Planning, conducting, and evaluating geological and geophysical surveys

Monitoring of drilling, mapping, sampling, conducting geophysical measurements and maintaining exploration equipment

Compile and write reports based on geological information related to completed exploration efforts for the development of the Company's mineral resource and reserve models

Act as a specialist in geological issues and, where applicable, liaise with key stakeholders

The work conducted will be in an environment of constant change placing a high demand on safety awareness and security


University degree in geology

Post grad qualifications

Microsoft Office is a requirement


Practical and theoretical knowledge in exploration and related areas

3 - 4 years of experience within exploration and/or mining

Experience within iron ore exploration will be advantageous

Experience of working with geological modeling tools e.g., Leapfrog or Vulcan will be an advantage

English and/or Swedish is a requirement

Finnish is advantageous

A valid Code B drivers license is also required

A self-starter who can work independently

Accountable with a structured approach to drive processes forward

Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work efficiently, setting timeframes and keeping within them

Sees change as an opportunity and easily adapt to changing circumstances, quickly evaluating, and integrating new information and adjusting your approach to suit

Aware of the goals and quality standards applicable to the role and attach great importance to achieving these
