Job Description:

A leading Utility Management Service Provider & Management company, based in Durban, is looking to employ an Energy Consultant (electricity). Tariff management, property energy measurement, billing & reconciliations. Liaise with Vendors, Power Utilities and customers to provide expertise, technical advice & resolve queries etc. You must have Project/Energy/Tariff Management, energy calculations & consumption or metering experience and knowledge. An Energy/Electrical Engineering qualification is essential for this role.


Main job function

Prepaid Metering, Metering, Energy Management, Tariff Management Calculation

Tariff Management

Property energy measurement

Billing and reconciliations

Consult with the power utilities, clients and private owners.

Provide expertise and technical advice on all electrical - energy-related matters, consumption, applicable kWh - tariff, high medium low voltage applications.

Provide technical expertise on meters, meter functionalities, testing, certifications and approvals.


Electrical or Energy Management Qualification


Understanding of Tariff's by-laws, NERSA, municipal, Eskom and regulatory requirements, SANS, SABS, Technical and operational aspects of meters.

Ensure high-quality work deliverables are submitted per the project schedule.

Strong project management and communication skills.

Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Knowledge of Electricity or Metering Industry.
