My client, a world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of Diesel Generator Sets and PV Systems is seeking a Red Seal Trade Diesel Mechanic with previous experience in the Generator sector to join their dynamic team.
Main job function
• Installing new equipment and systems
• Performs predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on engine-driven generating units and related mechanical equipment.
• Running load bank tests on generators
• Operates and maintains engine-driven generating units.
• Performing voltage changes
• Rewiring and installing control panels and voltage regulators
• Preparing generators for shipment/ transportation
• Performing preventative maintenance, including checking for worn parts and leaks
• Performs major maintenance and overhaul of engine-driven generating units.
• Performs testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing of diesel and gas engines.
• Calibrating and inspecting equipment
• Transporting equipment and tools from various work sites
• Performs minor electrical circuit preventive maintenance.
• Ensure a safe working environment when working with electrical and other hazardous equipment (safe work practices and Personal Protective Equipment)
• Interpret technical drawings.
• Diesel Mechanic Trade Tested - Red Seal
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Traded Diesel Mechanic
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with generators (installation and services thereof included)
• Knowledge of generator parts
• Matric
• Valid driver's license (Code 14 license will be advantageous)
• Fully bilingual
