Our client in Sandton, Johannesburg requires the services of an experienced Compliance Attorney for their legal practice.
Main job functions
Ensuring internal Company compliance with FAIS and NCA;
Review/Feedback/Reporting of/on legal/supplier contracts and required changes to ensure compliance;
Review/Feedback/Reporting of/on 3rd party/external Company queries to ensure accurate/thorough and ultimately correct legal responses in dealing with Compliance issues;
Ensuring any 3rd party/external Company compliance related queries/issues raised are dealt with and communicated with in a clear and concise manner so as to reduce risk;
Review/Feedback/Reporting on current processes/policies/procedures and required changes to ensure compliance in relevant areas (operations and support);
Updated knowledge of compliance requirements/changes in legislation and industry and best practice;
Assisting in providing training material to ensure staff/management are educated regarding compliance issues/requirements in their work environment, so as to ensure overall compliance;
Continuous research and analyses on compliance issues to reduce future risk
Managing legal collections
Providing legal services as requested by Practice
LLB degree (Admitted Attorney)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a compliance role in financial services (banking/microfinance/insurance)
Experience in FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services) and/or NCA (National Credit Act)
