Durban based Multi-Disciplinary Consulting firm is seeking a dynamic individual with extensive experience in designing civil infrastructure.

Main job function
• Designing of Civil engineering works: Roads, stormwater, water, sewer etc.
• Design of structural engineering elements.
• Preparation of tender documents, BOC’s including drawings for all design stages.
• Prepare and implement project procurement plans.
• Preparation and co-ordination of payment certificates, site meetings, recording and preparation of minutes.
• Must be knowledgeable on construction industry documentation including reports (daily, weekly and monthly), submittal review, design modifications and project correspondence.
• Good attitude to spot opportunities and preparation of proposal documentation thereof.
• Promote quality control procedures among staff members and perform quality assurance checks for compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Promote safe project work habits and require members adherence to project safety requirements.
• Undertake all contract administration duties.
• Analysis and interpretation of Civil Laboratory results and give advice to client.
• Preparation of variation orders and any other required documentation for the Clients perusal and approval.
• Give site instructions to the RE’s and Contractors on site.
• Managing Technical Team overseeing the projects ensuring the Contractor follow regulations and specifications.
Qualifications
• Ndip or B-Tech in Civil Engineering
• ECSA Registered as a Civil Technician
Criteria
• Minimum 5-10yrs experience within the Consulting Engineering industry mainly involved in the Design and project management of Civil and Structural Engineering Projects.
• Strong project background in project consulting industry.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil Designer Software.
• Full appreciation of running a project form initiation to completion.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors and fellow staff members.
