Main job function
The Chief Executive contributes to the success of the Organisation by providing executive leadership and, in partnership with the Board, takes responsibility for the success of the Organisation. He / she will provide strategic, tactical and operational management of the total programme, driving the accomplishment of the mission and vision, while inculcating an inclusive, collaborative and high performing culture.
Post graduate level degree in a relevant field of study, i.e. Health Science, Social Development.
10 Years’ experience in leadership and management, finance, operations and / or human resources ideally in the social justice/health equity/development sector.
5 Years’ strategic and senior management responsibility, team building and leadership.
Substantial experience within a leadership position whereby decision making, and collaboration has been a priority.
Strong organisational leadership & management acumen.
Fundraising experience with the non-profit sector.
Knowledge in the following areas will be advantageous:
health equity and human rights, primary health care, health promotion, social development, education, service provision, finance and personnel management.
Good language skills in English and at least one indigenous language is essential.
Proven track record of driving forward change within a fast-paced working environment is essential.
Demonstrated commitment to healthy equity, human rights, evidenced by sustained involvement in social and/or political activity.
