Main job function

The focus would be on creating and delivering brand plans, supporting growth across the portfolio in all channels focusing on chain retail. This focus should be to provide channel activation plans that generate substantial growth. This job is well-suited to digitally conscious people who enjoy analysing data, following current trends, and communicating with people


Responsibilities would include but not be limited too


Develop channel-specific marketing strategies, especially in chain retail environment;

Plan and implement channel-specific campaigns;

Drive visibility and activation programmes;

Build, maintain, and expands relationships with assigned channel partners;

Represents the entire range of products and develop specific solutions for each product;

Proactively leads the planning process that develops objectives, targets and critical milestones associated with each product and channel partner;

Managing marketing budget and spend;

Provide marketing advice and guidance on how to carry out the appropriate research and advertising for maximum effect;

Carry out market research to monitor latest trends;

Gather data, interpret results and create reports on marketing campaigns



Communication: This role requires effective communicating skills. Strong interpersonal and external communication skills are a must for success;

Analytical abilities: The ability to analyse data, observe trends and evaluate campaigns. And report and assess the success of campaigns and social engagement;

Teamwork: collaborate with a team and external contacts;

Computer skills: role requires the ability to use different computer programs and software. Having excellent computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher) is a must;

Organisation skills: work with different colleagues and teams on multiple projects at one time, so the ability to prioritise tasks and stay organised is essential;

Presenting and reporting: The ability to present information clearly and effectively in a structured and informative way.




Relevant Degree/Diploma




5+ years within similar role.

Marketing capabilities in activating brands, especially in the chain retail environment;

Understanding of customer marketing requirements;

Ability to drive visibility and activation programmes expected;

Experience in digital and social media marketing;

Understanding of the world of luxury brands and how to build them;

Understanding of the South African chain retail landscape;

General knowledge of the South African liquor landscape and, in particular, premium brands.

Effective and detailed planner;

Able to deal with ambiguity
