Job Description:

Multi-National Facilities Management company is looking to appoint a Building Manager for a busy retail centre in East London to oversee the activities of the service and maintenance staff & execution of building related activities. A tertiary technical qualification and 5 years plus experience in a similar position is essential for this role.

Main job function

Manage & co-ordinate service and maintenance staff

Manage & co-ordinate repairs, revamps & tenant installations in conjunction with the Facilities Manager

Carry out inspections & building risk management

General building maintenance

Establish and maintain good relationships with tenants & service contractors

Attend to all maintenance calls

Cost & Budget control

Reporting

Staff Management

Qualifications:

Matric

Technical qualification

Valid driver’s license

PC literate

Experience:

5 years+ building management experience

Plumbing, mechanical, electrical & air-conditioning knowledge

Knowledge of lease conditions including house rules & housekeeping principles

OHS knowledge

Administration principles

Working knowledge of statutory requirements, administration principles and reporting

Commission rules for Leasing Consultants

Common law principles applicable to leasing

Contract management

Knowledge of lease agreements

Cost Management

Labour relations Act

Debt collectors Act
