Main job function – Sustainable Design Consultant
We are seeking the professional services of a Sustainable Design Consultant, with at least 2-3 years of successful private sector experience across the green building sector in South Africa.
An exceptional focus on attention to detail, service excellence, problem solving abilities and quality is required, as is a deep-seated passion for our organizational culture and our aspirations to “Greening Africa One Project at a Time”.
Working as part of the Green Building Services Team, including:
- project management
- quality control
- meeting deadlines
- managing deliverables
- ensuring Client satisfaction
Core qualifications, skills set, and experience must include:
- Post graduate science or engineering degree in environmental or similar field
- Must have successfully managed and completed (as a lead) at least 5 Green Star Certifications and be qualified as an Accredited Professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA).
- Critical thinking skills
- Obsessive attention to detail
- Good project management skills
- Good people skills
- Exemplary work ethic
- Not afraid to muck in to get the job done
- The ability to push through to an end goal / outcome even if the landscape of the project changes
- The ability to take instruction and act on this precisely and to deadlines
The position consists of in-house working at our Westlake, Cape Town based offices and may include travel across Africa
Work As Directed
- You will be expected to serve the Company enthusiastically, diligently, faithfully and honestly and use all care and skill in the performance of your duties.
- You will be expected to perform all duties that you are directed to perform by the Company whether these instructions relate directly to the position you occupy, provided the instruction to do so is lawful and reasonable.
- Your specific duties will be discussed with you directly and will vary in line with the operational needs of the business and which will at least include, but not be limited to:
- Managing the Green Building Services Team Project Portfolio, including:
- project management
- quality control
- meeting all deadlines
- managing deliverables
- ensuring Client satisfaction
- delivering on the brand promise
- preparation of fee proposals, tenders, scope of works
- tracking of budgets and costs for each project
- Coordinating and managing the Green Building Services Team, including:
- quality control
- meeting all deadlines
- managing deliverables
- ensuring Client satisfaction
- Development of the Green Building Services Team and Service Offerings, including:
- Managing the Green Building Services Team Project Portfolio, including:
- Development of the Green Building Services Team and Service Offerings, including:
- The development of operational systems and processes and continually improve the efficiency of the above-mentioned services
- The development of new product offerings from the Green Building Services Team for the Company
- Assistance with Client recruitment, development and maintaining and enhancing Client relations for the company
- Assistance with the Project recruitment and development for the Company
- Developing and implementing Training Programs
- Public Speaking
- Assistance with strengthening existing partnerships and development of new strategic partnerships, respectively
- Strengthening and improving brand presence of the Company
- Administration and general logistical support to the Company
- General logistical support to the Company
