Legal Manager – JHB

EE South African female, Admitted Attorney with LLB Degree and 6 years post-articles experience and 4 years at management level. Experience in standardisation and implementation of legal processes nationally, legal advice to all divisions of the business (finance, IT, HR), instructing attorneys to deal with litigious matters, drafting of legal opinions and contract vetting. Her referee said of her, “She is dedicated, has an excellent work ethic and is deadline driven. Admitted Attorney with two degrees – LLB and a B Com – Law and has completed her articles. Legal professional with 3.5 years’ commercial legal experience in High Court and Magistrates Court litigation including Labour Court and CCMA. Currently consulting in order to stay up to date with the law, while looking for the right permanent position. Due to her work experience gained, she could be considered for a corporate Legal Advisor position or similar. Admitted Attorney with 5 years of experience. She holds a two masters degrees (LLM Labour Law & LLM Business Law), an LLB Degree & a National Certificate in Banking & Risk Management. The candidate specialises in employment and company law. She has experience in dealing with the Office of the Public Protector in respect of investigations into government departments; is involved in high profile cases reported in the media involving the expenditure of public funds and is experienced in litigation and drafting legal opinions in respect of tender disputes; supply chain management policy breaches; violations of the Customs and Excise Act; and general civil litigation as well. Within her broad range of experience, her expertise also extends to arbitrations for misconduct; section 197 transfers; enforcement of restraints of trade; interpretation and application of collective agreement disputes and retrenchments. She deals with reviews of arbitration awards; applications for condonation; rescissions; drafting statements of claim and so forth. She has litigated out of all major bargaining councils as well as the Labour Court, High Court and Magistrates Court for clients within the public and private sector. She also has exceptional drafting and research skills and is a qualified SETA Accredited Training Facilitator, which enables her to provide training to corporate clients on their compliance and legislative obligations.
